The Comics Art and Sci-Fi Expo is a futuristic event for fans of comics, movies, animation, games, and cosplay presented by the Singapore Cosplay Club. It will take place at Science Centre Singapore for 2 weekends; on 16 and 17 September and 23 and 24 September 2023.
International invited guests are cover artists for Rick and Morty; David Angelo Roman, a Japanese cosplayer; Yui Kanan, UAE cosplayer; Paris, USA award-winning cosplayers; Pros and Cons Cosplay and Binkxy.

David Angelo Roman, the cover artist for the Rick and Morty series
David Angelo Roman from Texas, is a cover artist for the Rick and Morty series and professional career as a mural and fresco artist, with emphasis in photo-realism and illusions. He is also an artist for Star Wars and Marvel under Topps, and Upperdeck.
Fans will get to meet David on the first weekend, 16 and 17 September 2023!
David’s workshop will be on 16 September 2023 at 3.30pm; Comics Art and the Intricacies.
An exhibition showcasing 'The Art of Rick and Morty' will be held for both weekends, 16 and 17 September and 23 and 24 September 2023.
Yui Kanan, cosplayer from Japan on 16 and 17 September 2023
Yui Kanan is a very artistic and experienced cosplayer from Japan who has participated in many international competitions.
Yui will be conducting cosplay workshops on 16 September 2023 at 1.30pm and 17 September 2023 at 3.30 p.m.
Paris, cosplayer from the UAE on 16 and 17 September 2023
Paris has been actively cosplaying since 2018 and has had the opportunity to showcase her cosplay skills in various countries such as Japan, Kuwait, Bahrain, KSA, Egypt, and Germany.
Paris will be conducting a cosplay panel on the 17 September 2023 at 1.30pm.
Pros and Cons Cosplay, twins cosplayers from the USA on 23 and 24 September
Pros and Cons Cosplay are twin Master-level cosplayers from the Midwest region of the United States of America. They have a strong understanding of cosplay construction, cosplay competition, and diversity, equity, and inclusion. They have competed and won numerous awards for cosplay craftsmanship and performance and focus on complex builds with multiple design elements including needlework, foamwork, wig styling, and intricate detailing. They are dedicated to making the cosplay community a safe and inclusive space for all.
Pro of Pros and Cons Cosplay
Pro is the older half of the cosplaying duo Pros and Cons and has been cosplaying since the early 2000’s. She is a multi-award-winning cosplayer, judge, and contest director from the Midwest region of the United States.
Con of Pros and Cons Cosplay
Con is the younger half of the cosplaying duo Pros and Cons Cosplay. Con is a multi-award-winning cosplayer, judge, and contest director from the Midwest region of the United States.
Pros and Cons Cosplay will be on stage on 23 and 24 September 2023 at 1.30pm and 3.30pm respectively.
Binkxy, a celebrity cosplayer from the USA on 23 and 24 September
Binkxy has been a cosplayer and member of the anime industry for over 25 years. She lives in Los Angeles and enjoys creating exciting cosplay opportunities for everyone. She worked in licensing, translation, and localization before following her passion for costuming and cosplay in the anime industry. She has crafted costumes for companies such as Aniplex USA, Funimation, Square/Enix, Marvel Entertainment, Nintendo USA, and SCRAP Real Escape Rooms.
Binkxy will be on stage on 24 September at 3.30pm.
An exhibition showcasing 'The Film Language of Takahan' will be held for both weekends, 16 and 17 September and 23 and 24 September 2023.
The Film Language of Takahan is an award-winning Toy Photographer.
Particularly fond of Superman and DC toys, Takahan and his works have captured the attention of personalities such as directors David Ayer (Suicide Squad) and David F Sandberg (Shazam), film set still photographer Clay Enos, production designer and art director Bill Brzeski, actor Ray Porter, and prominent producer-director Zack Sydner. During DC Fandom, Takahan’s works received accolades and were personally discussed by Jim Lee during the featured sessions.

Tsumani Zaiku by Jing, on the stage at 2.35pm on 16, 17 and 23, 24 September 2023.
Tsumami Zaiku is a traditional Japanese craft usually used in making Kanzashi. Tsumami means to pinch. One can pinch and fold small square pieces of cloth to form petals and then assemble into the designs they want to make. Anyone can learn and enjoy Tsumami Zaiku as a hobby!
Introduction to Cosplay Making by Akairi, on the stage at 4pm on 16 September 2023.
Akairi is a cosplayer who has been making her own cosplay costumes since 2010. In this segment, Akairi will go through basic pattern techniques for textile based clothing, choosing the right type of materials, home sewing machine tips and touch on other forms of crafts apart from sewing that can be used for cosplay like 3d printing. She will also share helpful resources that beginner to intermediate sewers will find useful. Through this talk Akairi hopes that it will jumpstart your very own cosplay making journey!

The Singapore Cosplay Club (SCC SQUARE) is a producer for creating and bringing pop culture content to Singapore. SCC SQUARE has held events annually in Singapore since 2001 for fans and enthusiasts of the anime, comics, music, and cosplay genres.
