COSPLAYER PROFILES: EIRYLLE
Cosplayers Profile had featured a lot of cosplayers throughout the years and it is part of appreciating the great work that these people put into the hobby. Let us welcome to COSPLAYER PROFILES, EIRYLLE. She started cosplaying in 2019 for a cosplay event in Davao City. Le't get to know her more.
Introducing Irene Siomou
Why do you cosplay?
I cosplat because I want to be happy. I like expressing myself in different ways, may it be matured or child-like. I cosplay because I want to and not that I need to. Also, I like dressing up, mostly for myself and not for anyone else.
What inspired you to cosplay?
At first, I didn't really plan to do so. It's all for "wala lang" but then, a cosplayer friend of mine pushed me to wear her extra cosplay set. And, I felt that rush of excitement anf happiness, wearing and looking like one of the characters from an anime that I used to watch.
What characters have you cosplayed?
I cosplayed Freya (or Chi) from Chobits. I also did Lady Scheherazade from Magi. I did trials on Megurine Luka, Emma from the Promised Neverland, Jabami Yumeko from Kakegurui, and a Genderbent Sukuna.
Irene Siomu and Her Plans in Cosplay
What is your best experience in cosplaying?
My best experience in cosplaying is definitely meeting other cosplayers and doing what we love. I used to go with my cousins as just the casual fan. It felt extra special to dress up and to be asked for pictures. Veteran and popular cosplayers usually take this for granted but for us small time cosplayers, it is the absolute best, especially if you cosplayed a non-mainstream character and someone recognizes you
Any future plans or dreams?
Future plans? Definitely more cosplans, be it wig trials or full-blown shoots! Also, more activities for my guild based in Agusan del Sur, Renge no Hashira! ❤️
And, lowkey promoting my shop to finally grow.
What is your message to other cosplayers?
Just do it. Do what you love and just do it. No matter low cost or big time, do it. Also, don't look down on others especially if they're still starting. Don't let your arrogance kill other's happiness. emember, cosplaying should be fun and not degrading!
