Cosplay History in Philippines Part 2
With the help of Aien Tatsuike we have relayed to everyone "Philippine Cosplay History and how it Started in the Philippines." This article will serve to add more context to that with the addition of the participation of media in cosplaying in the Philippines plus the history of worldwide cosplay
Beginning of Cosplay
Cosplay did not start in Japan and that is a fact. It was a thing that was started by the West, in the United States. It was people coming in costume with their favorite characters from movies and comics.
This same event was what inspired a Japanese to bring the idea to Japan and then brand it Kosupure which was the term for cosplay. Why is cosplay so awesome? Well, let us watch this video from HERO and listen to what Pablo Bairan of Cosplay.ph and David D'Angelo of Naruto Cosplayers PH (NCPH) as well as other people have to say.
Cosplay in the Philippines and Hero
Hero TV had been an integral part of cosplaying in the Philippines. "Hataw, Hanep, Hero," is among the first events to really give importance to cosplaying. Mainstreaming of the hobby was also in fact what made cosplay now so popular.
