Anime: Prince of Stride: Alternative

A new sports Anime had started for the first month of 2016! Prince of Stride: Alternative features high school students and the new sport "stride," as they compete to be the best stride team to win the Eastern Japan's top stride competition, the "End of Summer." (EOS)

Prince of Stride: Alternative follows the story of high school student of Honan Academy. Takeru Fujiwara and Nana Sakurai enrolled at Honan to join the infamous stride team of the said academy. But because the stride club lacks members, it was combined with the Shogi Club to avoid being disbanded. To re-establish the team, Fujiwara and Sakurai recruited other member (by force), Riku Yagami to the stride team. Sakurai became the relationer while Fujiwara, Yagami and other former Honan Stride Club members Hozumi Kohinata, Heath Hasekura, and Ayumu Kadowaki became the striders/runners.

Technically, Stride is a fictional extreme sport on which can be associated with the combination of Parkour, a real-life extreme sport (where practitioners aim to get from one point to another thru running, climbing, swinging, jumping, and rolling without assistive equipment and in the fastest and most efficient way possible) and Relay. Stride is sport where a team of 5 plus a relationer runs relay races in towns.

Prince of Stride: Alternative was developed by the Japanese animation studio Madhouse. It was frist know as an otome game title: Prince of Stride which was developed by both Kadokawa Games and Vridge Inc.

With a big seiyuu line-up, detailed animation and unique sports theme, Prince of Stride: Alternative is a must-watch anime for 2016 especially for the sports anime fans out there!
