Cosplay Groups: We Are Anime Club Angeles City
The Purpose of We Are Anime' Club is to enrich the academic environment by stimulating the growth and appreciation of anime' as an art form as well as the awareness and understanding of the Japanese Culture.
The We Are Anime Club was established on the 1st semester of the school year 2009-2010. Its main founding members were Joseph Peterson Lao, Chino "yashin" Mercado, Frances Velasquez, Catherine "jigz" Casuga and Charles Marco Mitchell, who became the 1st HAUkage (President) of the Organization. The Organization was established after the downfall of “Seisho no Genso”, an anime club open only for CICT student of the school. The main goal of the Organization is to spread the admiration of Japanese Culture through anime discussion and practicing Japanese traditions in our daily routines.
The 1st event held by We Are Anime Club was hosting a photo booth during the University Days of the 2nd semester of the school year 2008-2009. This was to showcase the cosplaying abilities of the founding members and to inform the students that an anime club is being formed the following year. Although there were many technical difficulties during the event, the organization managed to make the booth successful.
At the start of the 1st semester of the school year 2009-2010, the organization managed to recruit at least 72 members mostly from the CICT and CEA department. One of the activities that the organization co-organized was the Anime Fantasy, a cosplay competition held during the last day of the University Days of the school year 2009-2010. Nihonggo Tutorials and out of town competitions were among the other activities the organization participated in. We still plan to dub an anime series in tagalog and kapampangan and host our own cosplay competitions.
